Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is a U.S.-based mixed martial arts (MMA) organization, currently recognized as the largest MMA promotion in the world. Inspired by vale tudo competitions in Brazil, the UFC held its first competition in Denver, Colorado in 1993. The UFC is owned and operated by Zuffa, LLC, and based in Las Vegas.
